¡Hola, hola, hola... Amaichiin People, my citizens of the world! How are you? Welcome once again to Carlos Spanish Vibes.

All this Mexican journey unfolded through my close relationship with Daniel, my best friend and brother, originating from the enchanting city of Querétaro, Mexico Initially, I admit I had certain reservations about the Mexican accent and the intensity of spicy flavors, but I soon discovered that Mexico has a unique way of enchanting you from the moment you set foot on its land, rich in colors and culture.

I vividly recall how, despite my love for rancheras and good mariachi music, certain aspects like the "singing" accent didn't initially appeal to me. But who would have imagined that this country, brimming with refreshing cheladas and irresistible margaritas, would become much more than just a tourist destination? The opportunity to immerse myself in a new culture and discover the authenticity of its people presented itself through the family we chose, especially my Mexican brother.

We will explore how this chosen family provided me with the opportunity to fall in love with Mexico, its traditions, and how I overcame my initial impressions to fully embrace the charm of this true brotherhood.

Over 14 years ago, in a spontaneous act, I found myself purchasing a ticket to Mexico during the Christmas holidays. The reason behind this decision was simple and, in retrospect, somewhat impulsive: to meet the family of my best friend and brother, Daniel, in Querétaro.

At that moment, Mexico unfolded before me through a lens of cinematic clichés, more than as a reality I could feel. Rancheras, mariachi, extravagant hats, and that distinctive Mexican accent all filled my imagination. It's not that I didn't appreciate Mexican culture, but I had certain reservations, especially when it came to spicy food.

During this first venture into the heart of Mexico, my journey was not merely touristy; it was an adoption into a land full of colors and traditions. The Guadalupana, a celebration that I would come to love and respect over time, marked my arrival.

I remember standing in front of an immense painting of the Guadalupana in the church called La Inconclusa de Zamora. The magnitude of the experience was overwhelming; my eyes couldn't help but moisten with the emotion and palpable connection of that moment.

The Guadalupana was not just a religious celebration; it was a fervent tribute from the Mexican people to their patroness, a spectacle that transcended the church walls and spilled into the parks. The streets vibrated with the energy of this wonderful celebration, while the sounds of mariachis intertwined with the bursts of fireworks filled the air.

The "Mañanitas," sung with passion and joy, echoed in the hearts of those present. Although I grew up in a Catholic family and am not a practitioner or churchgoer, this new dopamine of joy and celebration became a part of my life.

Marking the anniversary of Daniel's parents' wedding and the birthdays of all the Aunt Lupitas, the Guadalupana became the perfect union of faith and family celebration. In that whirlwind of emotions, I found myself immersed, participating in a festivity that transcended the religious and became a unique cultural experience, where the essence of Mexico manifested in all its splendor.

But the true gem of the experience was the connection with Daniel's family. Years later, reflecting on that first encounter, I realize it wasn't just a visit; it was an adoption.

I was welcomed with open arms and taken to explore different parts of the state: grandma's house, uncles, nieces, cousins, and friends. I not only limited myself to exploring Querétaro and Michoacán, my two favorite states, but they also guided me to discover the charms of picturesque magical towns hidden between these two destinations. Each encounter was an authentic display of Mexican hospitality and warmth, a journey that spanned from the lively streets of Querétaro to the vibrant landscapes of Michoacán.

Although our families didn't physically coincide for 20 years due to various events and circumstances, the connection strengthened with each journey and shared experience.

Exploring Mexico became a journey filled with laughter, surprises, and shared moments that enriched our lives and strengthened the bonds of a true brotherhood. It was my gateway to a Mexican love: full of passion, color, and the warm welcome of a family I now consider my own..

Finally, living in the dazzling Riviera Maya, a decision we never imagined in that moment at the Church of La Inconclusa de Zamora, the reunion of our two mothers was more than just an encounter; it was a celebration of life and the unique connection between two avid travelers.

Celebrating Life and Brotherhood in Querétaro

After two decades of dreams and hopes, this year, the planets finally aligned to bring our two families together in one place. The magic unfolded in a beautiful hacienda in Querétaro, filled with stories echoing through its walls and cobblestone courtyards — the perfect setting to celebrate my brother Daniel's birthday.

Laughter and conversations filled the courtyards as the hacienda lit up with twinkling lights and vibrant flowers. It was a day weaving memories with the present, creating a tapestry of unforgettable moments. Although we longed for our parents and sisters to join us physically, we understand that every piece in this puzzle of life has its reason, even if we don't always comprehend it.

In the dim of the night, as lights sparkled and music played on, we immersed ourselves in the magic of this shared moment.

The stars in the sky seemed to shine with a special brilliance, as if they too were celebrating the reunion of two worlds that finally embraced in the warm atmosphere of Querétaro.

In this beautiful hacienda, we celebrated life, brotherhood, and the promise of more chapters to come. Every laugh, every tear, and every step that brought us here deserved to be celebrated. This reunion is more than a celebration; it is the culmination of a family love story, a reminder that, despite circumstances, our souls are connected in this special corner of Querétaro.

Bizz Bizz, and until the next story... Living the world one adventure at a time!
